Puente Hills Landfill Gas--To-Energy Facility - vital to the Sanitation Districtsí power production efforts.

With the recent turn of events, energy conservation is everyone’s business.

We could not agree more.
The Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County is in the business of treating and disposing of society’s discards, sewage and trash. And we do it in a way that both conserves and produces energy.
How?

Energy is produced at innovative facilities which utilize bio-gas recovered from sewage treatment, landfills and steam power from trash to energy facilities - all to
produce electricity. At the same time, the Sanitation Districts’ staff continues to research and
implement energy conservation techniques that significantly reduce energy usage at our facilities.

As a result, the Sanitation Districts produce enough electricity to power all of its facilities and still have plenty left over to provide local power companies electricity for nearly 200,000 Southern California homes.

We call that being energy wise... since 1938.
